Week 53

Image
Had a great week. Got up front with the exception of two days.  It seems I have arthritis in my mid to lower back. All the exercise I have been doing has caused it to flair significantly.  Been eating nice home cooked food. And other than being tremendously sore, I feel like I am doing better than I have in a long time. Going to keep it short this week.  As always feel free to comment below.

Week 52

Hard to believe this week marks a year since I have started my journey again.  My buddy has stayed over to help me and I have walked to the front of the house every day this week. I have moved more in the last ten days than I have in the past two years.  We have been having good home cooked food and really cut back on the sodas. Although I’m sore, I feel like I am making progress.  The more I get up, the more I want to get up. I’m going to keep pushing and get my life back.  As always feel free to comment below.

Week 51

This has been an interesting week.  My wife is working split shifts with her client this week, so she hasn’t been home much. This normally wouldn’t be a problem, but I’ve been struggling with the loss of my grandmother. Fortunately, a good friend of mine came over to spend a few days.  This has been a great help he’s been helping me get out of the room every day. He’s even been doing the cooking so my wife doesn’t have to come home and make something. He used to be a restaurant line cook. So, he has been making good healthy food.  I’m a bit sore from walking and sitting up, but I feel good. I’m hoping I can get strong enough to not need help to go up front.  That’s it for this week and as always feel free to leave a comment below.

Week 50

This week the world lost a great soul. On Monday morning about 05:00, my grandmother took her final breath and crossed over to the next life. Yesterday was her home going ceremony.  She will be greatly missed by many. She influenced many lives. Touched many hearts. It is hard knowing I’ll never be able to talk to her again or hear her singing.  I’ve been pretty down all week but trying to stay strong the way my grandmother taught me to be.  My eating has been ok. Been hitting the chocolate a little heavy this week to try and cope.  As always feel free to comment below.

Week 49

Waiting for a loved one to pass on is like waiting to be hit by a bus.  I’ve been very withdrawn this week. Not really wanting to do anything. I keep expecting to get a phone call at any moment and it’s got my anxiety and depression off the charts.  In other news, my doctor decided to prescribe a wheelchair to help get around, since I’ve been using my rolling walker like one and it’s not really designed for that.  I’ve been so out of it this week I’m really not sure what my diet has been like.  Feel free to comment below.
